Call for Papers SSC 2023 and Doctoral Workshop

SSC 2023

Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) looks forward to welcoming you to Munich and the 6th annual Strategy Science Conference. The conference will take place Tuesday, June 6th - Wednesday, June 7th in Munich, Germany.

Strategy Science, an INFORMS journal, has established itself as an important voice in the strategy field. It is providing an outlet for innovative strategy research tackling central questions in the field. The conference will provide an opportunity for a limited number of strategy researchers to share their work with in-depth discussions both in the context of the formal paper presentations and panel discussions. SSC 2023 aims to attract a diverse set of work addressing key issues in strategy. Papers not currently under journal review, which could be potential submissions to Strategy Science, are particularly welcome.

While the primary focus of the conference will be on high-quality research contributions across all fields of strategy, we will offer one or more "showcase" sessions, which is why we are particularly interested in research on the link between digitization and strategy, as well as strategy and sustainability. We welcome submissions that address these and related questions. In what ways do these new technologies cause us to re-evaluate existing strategy theory? We welcome submissions that address these and related questions.

SSC 2023 will take place on the main campus of LMU Munich, located in the city centre of Munich.

Doctoral Workshop

Prior to the main conference, the Strategy Science Doctoral Workshop will be held on June 5. Students admitted to the workshop will also be invited to participate in the main conference that follows on June 6 & 7. The format is targeted toward students who are finishing or have recently finished their coursework and are in the early stages of their dissertation work (not targeting the upcoming job market cycle). Applicants should send a brief (3 to 4 page) statement of their research interests along with their CV and provide one letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Applications to the Doctoral Workshop should be uploaded to https://tinyurl.com/strasci-phd-workshop-2023.

Munich

The city of Munich is the capital of the German state of Bavaria and is located 80 kilometres north of the Alps. With a growing population of currently 1.4 million, it is Germany’s third largest city and a major centre for higher education, research, technology, finance, and media. Munich is frequently top-ranked in international liveability rankings. With its many parks, vibrant cultural life, beer gardens, surrounding lakes, and the Alps nearby, it is a very pleasant travel destination, especially during the summer.
